There are weddings that feel beautiful, and then there are weddings that feel like a story — one that started long before the day itself and simply found its perfect final chapter on a golden afternoon in Edmond, Oklahoma. Sophie and Jackson’s wedding at Aspen Ranch was the second kind. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this celebration was rooted in something much deeper than décor: it was rooted in faith, friendship, and four years of college memories the two of them were determined to bring back to life for one more weekend.
We had the honor of filming Sophie and Jackson’s wedding rehearsal dinner and wedding day on video, and every frame of it — every belly laugh, every teary vow, every slick dance move — is a piece we can’t wait for you to see. But before you press play, we wanted to share their story in their own words, because honestly, no one tells it better than they do.
Where It All Began
Every love story has an origin, and Sophie and Jackson’s started in the most classic college way possible: a shared class and a group project neither of them could have known would change their lives.
“We met our freshman year of college,” Sophie told us. “We had a class together and worked together on several group projects.” What began as coursework turned into community. “We would often go to church with all of our friends and our connection grew stronger every time we were together.”
By the time spring semester rolled around, something had shifted. “We knew the Lord had a special plan for us and we fell in love.”
It’s the kind of beginning that sets the tone for everything that follows — a relationship built not on grand gestures, but on shared tables, shared faith, and showing up for each other again and again until “friends” quietly became “forever.”
Bringing Ole Miss to Oklahoma
For a couple whose love story began on a college campus, it only made sense that their wedding day would pay homage to it. Sophie and Jackson set out to recreate the feeling of their Ole Miss years — right down to the Spanish moss, the candlelight, and the unmistakable warmth of Southern hospitality — on the grounds of Aspen Ranch.
“The wedding planning process was honestly such a positive and fun thing to experience with each other,” Sophie shared. And their priorities from day one were refreshingly simple. “We knew our number one priority was having our amazing friends and family there and making it accessible to them.”
From there, the vision took shape. “We came up with our design and overall plan by trying to recreate what we experienced while in college at Ole Miss. We wanted to capture the true southern charm and hospitality while also incorporating the classy and elegant style in all the decor.”
Anyone who has ever planned a wedding knows that vision is only half the battle — execution is the other half, and that’s where the right team makes all the difference. Sophie was quick to give credit where it was due. “We had the most incredible vendors and they are the real reason that our dream came to life. When picking vendors we wanted people who would help us reach the extravagant and unique ideas that we had come up with and they exceeded all of our expectations!”
The result was exactly what they’d hoped for: an Aspen Ranch wedding that felt equal parts elegant and easy, sophisticated and welcoming — the kind of atmosphere that makes every guest feel like they’ve been invited into something personal, not just attended an event.
The Moments That Mattered Most
Ask any couple what they remember most from their wedding weekend, and you’ll rarely hear “the centerpieces” or “the seating chart.” It’s almost always the people, and for Sophie and Jackson, that held true in the most heartwarming way.
“Some of our favorite memories from our wedding weekend are just the simple moments spent with our friends and family,” Sophie said. Their rehearsal dinner set the tone. “Rehearsal dinner was absolutely incredible and getting to share that special night with our loved ones was so special.”
But the real magic happened after the toasts were finished. “After our dinner we ended doing some karaoke at the house we all stayed at. Bridal party, our parents, family friends, and many others stuck around just to sing and spend quality time with us and that meant a lot to the both of us.”
Their Advice for Choosing a Wedding Videographer
As a wedding videography team, our favorite part of every wedding season is hearing how couples think about capturing their day, and Sophie and Jackson had some wonderful wisdom to pass along to other couples starting that search.
“Some advice we would give to couples searching for the right videographer is to find someone who you can trust!” Sophie said. “We knew how important our wedding videos would be to us so we wanted to pick a videographer that would go above and beyond to capture our special day and that is exactly why we chose Leslee! She was so incredible to work with and is so intentional with her work. We could not have picked anyone better than her!!!”
Trust is exactly the right word for it. A wedding day moves fast, and so much of it happens in fleeting, unrepeatable seconds like a father’s face during the first look, the exact way a groom looks as his bride walks down the aisle, the split-second when a room full of friends breaks into song on the dance floor. Being trusted to capture those seconds, and to hold them carefully enough that a couple can relive them for the rest of their lives, is a responsibility we never take lightly.
