From Dorm Room Neighbors to Lifelong Love
Lauren and Mason’s love story began with a simple twist of fate during their college years at the University of Oklahoma.
“Mason and I met during our freshman year at the University of Oklahoma, where we lived just two doors down from each other in the dorms,” Lauren shares. “We became instant friends, but from the very beginning, we both knew there was something real between us. There was always a connection—we just let our friendship grow first.”
When the COVID-19 pandemic altered the course of their sophomore year, Mason returned home to Texas while Lauren headed back to Tulsa. Distance, however, only solidified what they already felt.
“Although we were hundreds of miles apart, we stayed connected every day through FaceTime, phone calls, and texts. Looking back, the distance only made us realize how special our connection truly was. Before our sophomore year began, Mason drove to Oklahoma to visit me, and that’s when we officially started dating. But if you ask us, I think we had been in love from the moment we met—we just didn’t know it yet.”

“I wanted our wedding to feel timeless, elegant, and true to us,” Lauren explains. “When it came to the design, I focused on creating a day that reflected my personal style while also creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Choosing our vendors was one of the most important parts of the planning process. I looked for people who were experienced, passionate about what they do, and genuinely invested in making our wedding day special.”

The wedding day kicked off in downtown Tulsa, where Lauren and Mason prepared for a reverent, faith-filled ceremony at Trinity Episcopal Church. Stepping into the historic sanctuary, surrounded by stained glass and rich architecture, set a deeply sacred tone for the entire day.
“Our favorite part of the weekend was simply being present with our family and friends,” Lauren remembers. “Mason and I are both very family-oriented, so having the people we love travel from near and far to celebrate with us meant more than we can put into words. Our ceremony will always be one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. Beginning our marriage through the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in the church was incredibly special, and it’s a memory we’ll cherish forever.”
An Unforgettable Reception at The Mayo Hotel
After saying “I do,” the party moved to one of downtown Tulsa’s most celebrated historic landmarks:The Mayo Hotel. Known for its art deco grandeur, soaring ceilings, and rich history, The Mayo Hotel is a premier location for couples looking for high-end luxury and unforgettable atmosphere.

“And, of course, the reception was unforgettable!” Lauren shares. “The dance floor was full from beginning to end and never slowed down. Seeing everyone laughing, dancing, and celebrating together brought us so much joy. Huge credit goes to KC & The Vibe—they kept the energy high all night and made the reception an absolute blast.”
