Faith & Matthew’s Timeless Wedding at OKC Golf & Country Club

There is a distinct, electric kind of magic that fills the air when two college sweethearts tie the knot surrounded by everyone they hold dear. Faith and Matthew’s summer wedding at the prestigious Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club was nothing short of perfection. From a vibrant color palette of lush blues and leafy greens to a dance floor packed with laughter, every moment reflected their love story; one that began on a snowy mountain and evolved into a lifelong promise.

From a Ski Trip Card Game to Forever

Long before they were walking down the aisle in traditional wedding attire, Faith and Matthew were just two college students hitting the slopes. Their paths crossed during an Oklahoma State University fraternity trip, setting the stage for a connection that neither saw coming.

“We met on an OSU Sigma Nu ski trip in 2019,” Faith recalls. “Matthew and I had gone with other friends and bonded over a game of cards one night. I got hurt later in the trip and Matthew checked in on me, and just never stopped talking. We dated all throughout college and graduated together in 2023!”

That thoughtful check-in after an injury sparked a conversation that simply never ended. Through study sessions, campus events, and the milestone of graduating side-by-side in 2023, their relationship grew on a foundation of genuine care and endless fun.

Designing a Classic, Colorful Summer Celebration

When it came time to plan the wedding, Faith had a clear vision for the overall look and feel: vibrant, sophisticated, and utterly timeless. To bring this vision to life, she turned to professional planning expertise, which made the journey remarkably stress-free.

“Once we found our planner, everything fell into place!” Faith shares. “She made finding the vendors such a seamless process and immediately fell in love with all the first picks she sent us.”

With the team locked in, the design aesthetic naturally took shape around the season:

  • The Color Palette: Shades of classic blue paired with fresh, organic greens.
  • The Atmosphere: A refined blend of timeless elegance infused with colorful summer energy.
  • The Venue: OKC Golf and Country Club, providing a grand backdrop with manicured lawns and sophisticated indoor spaces.

“I always knew I wanted a summer wedding full of color, but so classic and timeless, so blue and green just felt right for our colors,” Faith notes. The result was a aesthetic harmony where crisp blues balanced vibrant greenery, complementing the natural beauty of the country club setting.

Cherished Moments: Sacred Vows and Morning Memories

While every wedding day is packed with unforgettable highlights, the quiet and sacred moments often shine the brightest in hindsight. For Faith and Matthew, stepping up to the altar grounded everything they were celebrating.

“It’s beyond hard to choose, but the ceremony will always be our favorite part,” Faith says. “The first time both of us actually realized today is the day, is when we were standing in front of the priest at the alter about to get married. It was such a surreal moment.”

That powerful realization—standing side-by-side ready to start their next chapter—anchored the entire day in deep meaning.

Before the ceremony, the morning unfurled with easy joy as Faith spent her final hours as a fiancée surrounded by her closest friends. “Other than that, I loved getting ready with all my favorite ladies, it was truly such a fun part of the day that I will always remember,” she adds. Laughter, champagne toasts, and heartfelt prep made for an effortless lead-up to the main event.

A Reception to Remember: Bringing Two Families Together

Following the ceremony, guests gathered at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club for an evening defined by joyous celebration. If the ceremony was about quiet reverence, the reception was all about vibrant connection.

For Matthew, watching their extended circle come together created the ultimate highlight of the night.

“For Matthew, he loved seeing everyone we love have so much fun and come together to celebrate us,” Faith shares. “It was so clear on the dance floor how quickly all of our friends and family blended and had the best night.”

As the music played, the dance floor quickly became the heart of the venue. Friends from their OSU days mixed seamlessly with family members of all generations, filling the room with high energy and shared celebration until the final send-off.

Bride-to-Bride Advice: How to Choose the Right Photographer

Capturing the emotion, detail, and energy of a wedding day requires a photographer who understands both the couple’s vision and the nuances of the venue. Reflecting on her experience working with Leslee, Faith offers practical advice for couples navigating their photographer search.

  • Review Venue-Specific Portfolios: Look at galleries shot at your specific location to see how the photographer handles the lighting and space.
  • Visualize the Aesthetic: Choose a photographer whose creative point of view allows you to picture your own day seamlessly.
  • Trust Your Team: Pick professionals who make the process feel natural so you can remain fully present.

“We loved looking at her Instagram and galleries of other weddings she had done at our venue, and made it so easy to picture what our wedding would look like through Leslee’s pov!” Faith advises. “I couldn’t recommend her enough, and so blessed to have all of these perfect images to remember our favorite weekend!”
